#KingdomGoals

It is so strange to see our hallways right now! This week the construction team has stripped bare the floors, walls, and ceilings of the hallway leading from the Fellowship Hall to my office. Seeing the studs, electrical wires, and plumbing of our building reminds me that much of what is important often goes unnoticed by the things that block our vision. It is also those unseen things, that when they fail, can devastate us. The busted pipe in the preschool hallway on Christmas Eve is a prime example of this.

The recent events of the past few weeks has led me to reflect on how truly blessed we are as a church despite some of the recent difficulties we have faced. Why? Because I have seen through the facade and witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit working within the people of Lake Cities United Methodist Church. It has been such a blessing to watch people step up and make possible what seemed at many times to be impossible. We still have a long way to go to get somethings right again, but I know we will.

This Sunday we will be beginning a new sermon series called #KingdomGoals. The #KingdomGoals Sermon Series is a series about a sermon, a very important one! The Sermon on the Mount is the longest and most detailed of Jesus’ teachings and a change of perspective. It is a reversal of everything the world tells us to believe and do. It creates a new goal for all believers… a kingdom goal! Join us this Sunday for worship at 8:30 and 10:45AM as we continue to talk about blessings and #KingdomGoals.

In God’s grip,

Pastor Chuck Church
