Heroes are Called to Follow Jesus!

This past week at VBS, our little heroes have been answering the call from various superheroes who have needed our help. With the help of Professor Chuck, Super Meer, and our wonderful volunteer team we have heard stories from Scripture about a supporting cast of Bible Heroes who work together to bring peace, build each other up, and share the great story of God’s love.

The theme verse for Hero Hotline VBS is called the Hotline Verse and we and all of the young Heroes attending VBS have been saying it a lot throughout our time together. It’s from Paul’s Letter to the Romans, chapter 14, verse 19. “So, let’s strive for the things that bring peace and the things that build each other up.” This verse has given us the courage to live out our calling to follow Jesus and make disciples.

Some of us may think that the life of a disciple is all about learning what it is we should do, not do, or what we should believe. And that is part of it, but disciples or Heroes are called to... Follow Jesus in making disciples as well! And to do that well, we need to learn about who it is we are following. This Sunday we hope you will join us at either 8:30 or 10:45 AM for worship as we learn some of the same things our little heroes have learned this week and catch a glimpse of the fun they have had.
