What is the Most Christian Thing to Do?

What is the most Christian thing to do? Is it going to church? Reading the Bible? Praying frequently? Or maybe even sharing the gospel with others? No! While these are ALL things Christians should be doing, the MOST Christian thing we do is serving others.

Serving others is the embodiment of Christian love. Before Jesus ascended into heaven, he had the opportunity to speak to Peter and asked him if he loved him. In John 21:15-25, Jesus told Peter that if he loved him, Peter would feed Jesus’ sheep. The sheep Jesus was speaking of are God’s children and the food is both literal and metaphorical. Jesus taught us that the true display of loving God is to love and serve God’s children. Jesus demonstrated this in his earthly ministry and left us with this great command before he ascended.

There are many important things that Christians should do in order to seek Christian perfection, but it is my opinion that service to others is the truest litmus test of Christian love. Join us this Sunday for worship at 8:30 or 10:45 AM as we discuss how we love our neighbors by serving.
