What are You Doing?
What am I doing this week? Well I am at a 5th grade camp with my youngest son, Hayden. I am actually writing this blog post from camp right now. Why am I here? Well, because they needed me and I love my son. This week I volunteered to walk around in 95+ degree temperatures, eat camp food, chaperone chaotic 5th grade boys, and sleep on a bunk bed. I wouldn’t call it ideal, but I would describe it as a blessed experience. I did it for my son. I did it because I love him. What would you do for someone you love?
Jesus calls us to love all people and because of that we should be willing to be uncomfortable for the people we are to love. In Matthew 9:37, Jesus said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” Jesus knew that there are a lot of people (the harvest) in need of love and too few willing to do something about it. What are you doing? How are you discomforting yourself for the sake of others. Lets do something!
