COVID-19 Protocol Update for Fully Vaccinated People
5/13/2021
Dear Congregation,
This afternoon the CDC (Center For Disease Control) has updated their COVID-19 Safety Protocols to say that If you are fully vaccinated, you can resume activities that you did prior to the pandemic. This includes but is not limited to attending indoor activities without wearing a mask.
Lake Cities United Methodist Church has been committed throughout the pandemic to “do no harm” and follow the guidelines of the CDC. That being said, I would like for you to know that FULLY VACCINATED people will be welcome to attend worship with the option to wear a mask or not. We ask that those who have not been fully vaccinated to continue to follow the protocols of wearing a mask and maintaining 6-feet distance at our worship services.
I would also like to remind you that there are those in our congregation that cannot receive the vaccination, such as children and folks with medical conditions. For this reason, as your pastor, I will continue to wear a mask in most situations even though I have been fully vaccinated. It is my desire that everyone feels welcome and safe and I hope you may consider this as well. If you have not been vaccinated and would like help doing so, please contact me at the church office and I will help you in any way that I can.
This coming Monday evening (5/17/2021), our Administrative Council will be meeting to discuss opening the campus for other in-person gatherings and consider the COVID-19 protocols associated to them. Please be assured that the decisions we make will be to keep in mind not only the spiritual but also physical health of all people who come to our church. Thank you for the patience you have all shown throughout this pandemic and I look forward to the wonderful things we will soon be able to do together!
In God’s grip,
Rev. Chuck Church
Senior Pastor of Lake Cities United Methodist Church
