I know many of you are asking what we can do to help with the Texas Panhandle fires. Although we are not ready to send people, we can send money & supplies. Money can be donated through Lake Cities UMC and will be sent to appropriate agencies helping with this disaster. We will hopefully know soon when we will be able to send ERTs and volunteers, but until then the Texas Panhandle VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) has shared with us a list of items that can be collected by our organization.
Needed Cleanup Supplies:
1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Work Gloves: Protect hands from debris, sharp objects, and contaminants.
Eye Protection: Safety glasses or goggles shield eyes from dust and particles.
Ear Protection: Earplugs or earmuffs for loud equipment.
Respiratory Protection: Masks or respirators to prevent inhalation of ash, dust, and mold spores.
Coveralls
2. Cleanup Supplies and Tools:
Contractor Trash Bags: Dispose of debris and damaged items.
Brooms and Dustpans: Sweep away ash and dirt.
Flat shovels: Scoop away ash and dirt.
Rubber Gloves: Additional protection during cleaning tasks.
