Since we first re-opened worship during this COVID-19 pandemic the Administrative Council of Lake Cities UMC have said we would follow CDC guidance for gatherings. Recently, on Feb. 25, 2022, the CDC has updated their guidance specific to area by county. Below is the recommendation for our area:
In Denton County, Texas, community level is Medium.
If you are at high risk for severe illness, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask and take other precautions
Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines
Get tested if you have symptoms
Based on the community level being medium, masks will be optional. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.
As Methodists, we know that our general rules for behavior are: to do no harm, to do all the good you can, and to attend upon all the ordinances of God. This means that when we worship together, as we are supposed to do, we should do so seeking to cause no harm and do good. IF you are sick or feel that you may be sick we ask that you please consider worshipping from home.
