PASTOR RENE' LAWSON
Lake Cities United Methodist Church Pastor Pastor
Rene’ of Dallas, Texas was appointed to Lake Cities United Methodist Church
in March 2008. He holds degrees from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort
Worth, Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a diploma in Joint
Professional Military Education from the Naval War College in Newport,
Rhode Island. He is currently working on a post-graduate degree from Houston
Graduate School of Theology. Rene’s interest lies particularly in areas where churches seek to grow and reach towards its surrounding community. His past three pastoral assignments enjoyed growth in average worship attendance, which included inner-city, military and suburban settings. His home area of service is the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Outside the church, Rene’ spends his free time serving as a chaplain with the Navy Reserves. His military duty has placed him in a number of settings across the globe including a tour in 2006/2007 with 1st Marine Logistics Group in Fallujah, Iraq. He was recently selected to the rank of Commander. Rene’ and Pam are excited to be a part of the Lake Cities congregation and look forward to many years of growth in ministry within the church and the community.
