Haiti Disaster Relief
In light of the recent disaster in Haiti, a special North Texas Conference
fund number has been created to help members and friends offer emergency
financial assistance to the people of Haiti via the United Methodist
Committee on Relief (UMCOR). Make your church checks payable to LCUMC
and on the memo line put “Fund 277 Haiti.” 100% of private donations
goes towards emergency relief efforts.

Souper Bowl of Caring
Sunday, February 7th - Bring canned goods in to help support our Food
Pantry. Our church has a goal of 250 cans -- let's go above and beyond
and beat that goal!
Super Bowl Extravaganza
Sunday, February 7th - Join us as we have an all church Super Bowl party in the FLC starting at 5pm. Please bring your favorite tailgate food to share and your own lawn/camping chair to sit in. We're going to project the game on the wall and have lots of great fellowship time. Everyone of all ages is invited. We will also have board games, cards and a ping-pong tournament. The fun starts at 5pm!
Valentine's Banquet
Saturday, February 13th @ 6pm there will be a Valentine's Banquet for adults in the FLC. Dinner from Olive Garden will be catered, including Lasagna, Salad and bread sticks along with dessert. Entertainment that night will be an "Oldie Wed" game hosted by Pastor Rene. Cost will be $13/person ($26/couple) and tickets can be purchased in between services on Sunday or by contacting Kathy Hieb, Tyra Steil or Chelsea Taft. There will be childcare available (at additional cost) through Footprints Preschool's Parents Night Out program for children who are already potty-trained and up. Childcare has to be reserved through them by Feb. 5th.
Home Group Study
Pastor Dyan will be leading a 9-wk home group study on the Gospel of
Luke through the months of Feb. & March. The study will cover 2-3
chapters per week and will focus on the historical context and theological
implications of the text. If you are interested in either participating
in or hosting one of these home groups, please contact the church
office @ 940-321-6100 by Wed., Jan. 27.
Youth Mission Trip Fund Raiser
The Youth are having a Mission Trip Fundraiser on January 31st.
All you have to do is take this flyer
with you to Applebee's that day for lunch or dinner. Have a great meal,
and then Applebee's will contribute 15% of the bill to this years mission
trips. It is that easy.
So we want to get as many people there as possible. You can help us
by printing this pdf and giving it to
as many friends and neighbors as you can. The more people that have
the flyers on that day, the more money is raised to send us on missions
throughout the year.

Archiving Group
This year we will begin collecting, preserving, archiving, writing
and displaying the history of Lake Cities UMC. If you have old pictures,
newspaper clippings, Lenten journals, or other memorabilia from our
