Lewis Worthington

Lewis Worthington has a passion for people of all ages, worship, liturgy, music, and the LSU Tigers.

His undergraduate work in music education is from East Texas State and Texas Wesleyan Universities. He holds the Master of Sacred Music degree in conducting and liturgy from Emory University. Lewis completed the coursework and qualifying exams for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in conducting and musicology from Louisiana State University, where his dissertation was titled, "Reconciling Liturgical History with Social Justice in Frank Ferko's 'Stabat Mater': the creation of culture and triumph of bad taste."

Lewis met his wife, Mary, while at Broadmoor UMC in Baton Rouge. She was the Asst Youth Director and Lewis was the Director of Youth Arts Ministries. The Worthingtons have been married since 1995 and have two beautiful daughters, Madison (Sophomore) and Corinne (3rd grade).

Lewis is the National Secretary for the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and the Worship Arts and is a brother in the Order of St. Luke, a religious order in the United Methodist Church dedicated to sacramental and liturgical scholarship, education, and practice.
